Q: can I paint on top of it, after it is dried?

A: Yes, you can. I removed rust from the metal parts on my elliptical machine, brought it back to bare metal, then used gray metal paint to finalize everything.

Q: Is this safe to use on car automotive paint chips? Will it damage paint or clear coat?

A: I used it on rims and it was OK. It did not remove all rust but remove most of it. I also used Hand Drill Brush/Wheel Set for Wood/Metal Rust Removal. It's not like you apply this gel and rust are gone instantly.

A: I believe you can. Then wash them. You can put them in white vinegar too.

A: This product is not acidic. It converts FEO3 to FE04: different forms of oxide. I don't know the chemistry. It needs to be at room temperature.

Read the instructions carefully and then use cling wrap to put on while the product attacks the rust.

Works well

I was surprised by this. Expecting it to do very little. I painted it in with a cheap brush, covered it with Siran wrap and came back an hour later. I look forward to seeing if it stopped the rust after winter comes and goes.

L'hiver dernier, j'ai acheté ce produit pour la tondeuse, de mon tracteur à gazon. Ce printemps, je l'ai essayé, avant, sur ma petite tondeuse à essence, en suivant les instructions et j'ai été agréablement surprise par le miracle qui fait que la rouille disparaît réellement. Pas de mensonges sur le produit, quand ils dissent métal nue, c'est nue, et en plus c'est un excellent 'savon' pour enlever les tâches de chlorophylle incrusté dans la peinture sans détérioré cette dernière. C'est plus chez qu'une brosse mais ça sauve du temps en maudit.
