Q: How are the sizes available for these clamps determined? Is it by width that the mouth of the clamp opens? Can youplease provide the length from tip of clamp to tip/end of the handle? Thank you.

A: It says 13 ft. The pieces for the corners are adjustable. Make them as long or short as you like. Then just push the little lever closed and screw the tension handle tighter. It doesn,t slip . I tighten the release lever but keep tension and reverse screw the handle back to start. Close the lever again and re-tighten so its real snug. No slippage at all.
