Value priced useful tool when in unfamiliar waters

I have used this Chartplotter depth-sounder all season now; it has seen a lot of use, as, weather permitting, I cruise typically 40-50 miles per day of boating. It operated perfectly all season. I boat in Louisville, KY on the OH River mostly; additionally on inland KY lakes (Nolin, Dale Hollow, Cumberland) and sometimes in the western basin of Lake Erie in OH. I love how the product automatically creates a trail of your activity. This is very useful when wanting to return to the boat ramp in a strange lake at the end of the day. You can turn this off when needed. The transducer works well even at WOT (which is 40 MPH on my boat). Great product for the money.

When it was working, it was great

Bought 6 months ago, used less than 10 times on a Kayak and then just died. Never got wet other than a few drips from the paddle. Died on a sunny day , while out fishing.. and hasn't started working again 2 weeks latter. Because I imported the product, I have no support.. so into the bin she goes.
