Good but won't dim low on LED bulbs

I have this model and also the more expensive one with ON/OFF switch. The more expensive one can dim lower than this one and has the advantage of setting a dimming level and then use the switch to turn it on and off. But this cheaper model is .. cheaper. The slide works fine but is almost flush with the surface so not easy to grab in the dark. The Off position is the lower slide position. Plus point, it has a small light in the dark so it's easy to locate. Minus, even if you have LED bulbs that accept dimers, these bulbs will turn off at the lower dimming settings. Better use halogen bulbs for very dim lights.

A: NO, THIS MODEL OF DIMMER SWITCH CAN ONLY BE WIRED INTO A SINGLE POLE wiring circuit. (As confirmed by LEVITON Technical Support - and demonstrated by the diagram on the front of the package.) LEVITON makes a different LED dimmer with a slider and on-off toggle switch below the slider that CAN be wired into either a single-controller or two-controller (3-way) wiring circuit - as long as the second controller in that circuit is a simple 3-Way switch and NOT a second dimmer switch. (As confirmed by LEVITON - and demonstrated by the diagram on the front of that package.) Even more confusing: LEVITON has a chart on their website that tells you what make and model of LED BULBS are compatible with these dimmers. (As I learned after the fact, that their dimmer switches are not compatible with dimmable Sylvania ∕ OSRAM LED bulbs.) LEVITON'S telephone Technical Support Service is very efficient and helpful with these confusing issues.

A: LEVITON has a webpage that shows you all the different manufacturer's LED bulb models that are compatible with each of their LED dimmer switches. It is very possible that these switches will work just fine with one brand and model of LED bulb, and then will not work and cause LED bulbs to flicker, with a different LED bulb. This sounds crazy (it did to me until I looked at the webpage), but it is awfully true.

A: This product does have an off/on option. It is slide-to-off, thus dimmer is off when slide bar is lowered to the bottom.
