Q: Does the extinguisher needs to be inspected and tagged before installation?

A: As this extinguisher is for a home inspection and tags are not necessary. However regular checking of the gauge is a good idea to see if it is ready for use and the pin is in to prevent unintended use. If this was for a business make a tag and do your monthly checks rotating the extinguisher upside down and back a couple times. Or go through a business that will inspect your extinguisher and sign your tag if it is operational. The extinguisher is capable just the operator still needs training in the use to meet worksafe and health and safety regulations. Tags are records of inspection that the extinguisher is charged and ready for use.

A: Probably not. Canadian Tire has changed their return policy making it almost impossible to return anything. I’ve started making my purchases at Home Depot or TSC.

While I love the product itself, Kidde itself lacks integrity to consumers. 2 emails about a Kiddi products asking for a response. Nothing. Overwhelming product complaints, nothing. Even our local Fire Chief commented on product defect issues after they responded to our house. BUT it appears Kiddi doesn’t care. I would buy other products but they have captured the market with their products. Shame on you.

Very serious piece of hardware. I feel safer knowing it's mounted in the camper van in case of emergency. I have smaller ones in the house too. An excellent investment.
