I like the personalized speakers for their ability to showcase my individuality. They encompass that in the way they offer a way to add text, stickers and a wide choice of colors for the speaker. they are vibrant and give off a hue that matches the speakers color choice. They sound great and can get loud enough to hear in another room. The lights for the state of charge are dim and need to be observed up close or wait until they shut down when the battery is drained. I can live with that as I installed the JBL portable app to check the charge on my phone. All in all they are great speakers to enjoy streamed music, I would get one or two to have for a real stereo effect,

A: I have to counter the previous reply by mario. Its always been the case that using battery powered devices while charging the device severely degrades the life of the battery much faster. You will find it start to not hold as much capacity and will start dying faster than had you not.

Q: I updated the firmware in my two JBL Charge 5s. Since the update, it is almost impossible to connect the two JBL Charge 5s together, using the PartyBoost Button or JPL App. When I try to connect the second one, the first one disconnects.

A: I worked with the Customer Service and determined it is better to connect the speakers together using the Party Boost buttons on each unit. Then open the App if one wants to use the Stereo or equalizer features. It was hit or miss trying to connect the speakers together using the App, where one speaker would drop off. Also, it helps to have the speakers next to each other and my iPhone to make the initial connections. Both of my speakers have the latest firmware 0.8.6.0, and I am using the latest App 5.6.7 for my iPhone.

Q: I just bought the JBL Charge 5. On JBL website, under Tech Specs, Dynamic range is 60Hz - to 20 kHZ. On the Tech Spec paper I received with the product, The frequency response is listed as 65Hz to 20 kHZ. Which is correct? Is this false advertising?

Q: I cannot get phone call rings, text message notifications or other notification sounds to come thru speaker. Have tried with iPad Pro, iPhone 8 & iPhone 11 all with newest iOS software. But all work fine with Charge 4.

A: I understand it does not have a mic. I’m not trying to talk thru the speaker. I never said anything about talking thru it. I said NOTIFICATION SOUNDS from my device do not come thru the speaker. Sounds like text messages and social media notification sounds. Using an iPad, an iPhone 8, and an iPhone 11 (all with the newest iOS software, you cannot hear these notifications on an updated Charge 5, or a updated Charge 3, BUT I CAN hear these sounds on a JBL LIVE 500. But a JBL representative told me that the newest software my Charge 5 and Charge 3 were update to, does not support the newest iOS software yet.

Q: What is the difference in bt connectivity from partybox 310 and charge 5 i have one bt device she can connect to pb 310 and play music but on charge 5 it is connect but he dont play music, thx

A: I was tray everything, 2 devices has no sound in my charge 5 while it has on pb310 but it ha connected on bt, I was tray reset device but no luck I think that something is not ok with compability but if it is the same spec with pb310 it must to work, maybee problem is the frimware?

However, if you are referring to our JBL Charge 5 Wi‑Fi SE, please know that, as part of our effort to minimize e‑waste, we consciously choose not to include a charging cable in the packaging. You can use any standard USB-C cable to charge your JBL product, as well as a power adapter compliant with the USB-C standard. If you purchased the JBL Charge 5 and the USB Type‑C cable was missing, please contact us directly so we can assist you right away.

A: Thanks for reaching out. It is possible that the battery is losing its capacity. However, it is also possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please try to charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to-playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. Please contact us for further assistance.
