    Ripped off

I bought this 2 years ago. Right away, I had to call customer service because the supposedly self-evaporative unit was draining multiple buckets of water a day. I was told that it's because I live by Lake Ontario. I accepted that explanation. I shouldn't have. Although this unit DOES cool effectively, it can be darn loud, a lot louder than the 50-52 decibels and can be heard through my ear plugs (since it's in my bedroom, it's a bit disconcerting). And what I got Is NOT self-evaporative/dripless. It is not normal to fill a bucket on an average day, or twice after a rainstorm or in particularly humid weather. I was advised to put a pie plate or something flat under the spout if I didn't want to have to try hoisting its massive and heavy weight over a tub at the end of the season. What I actually had to do was buy a couple of cinder blocks to put the unit on, so I could attach a hose to both the top and bottom spout. To do otherwise is to have the tank fill up so quickly that owning one of these becomes a weight training regimen. I am a small, senior lady who can't do that. Anyway, 18 months after being gaslit gaslighting by customer service about the draining, I found out that two of my neighbours, on the same floor in my apartment building, have the same model. Neither of them has EVER had to drain it like I do. In fact, neither of them has ever had to drain it, period. I wondered if maybe I just had a particularly damp apartment even though I'm sandwiched between the two of them. I was angry about the gaslighting by Hisense customer service to convince me that the problem was my expectations, not the unit. I was gaslit enough to think that they were right. They were not. I paid for a dripless model and I've spent two summers emptying bucket after bucket of water. What opened my eyes and made me realise I got a lemon and was being gaslit was recently buying another one to put in the living room. And guess what? Three days quietly running now and not a drop dripped. I've emptied the first one twice during that time. I GOT A LEMON. The time period to exchange at the store was up 6 weeks ago. A week ago I woke up to a stifling bedroom because the thermostat on the first unit had decided that 27°C was close enough to 23°C that it could take a break. Turning the thermostat down to 20° got the unit to work a little longer; it cooled the room down to 25°C. Unplugging the unit for a minute and pressing Reset when I plugged it back in again seems to have fixed that problem for now, but I'm wary. Given that it's clearly a lemon, I don't trust it to run much longer past it's warrantied time. I'm out of money. Frankly I expected for what I paid for it that it would be, you know, worth it. But it wasn't. LEMON.

    Good for the price

Bought this just before the last heat wave in BC Canada. We kept it in the bedroom for the first few nights and with the doors closed it worked a treat although a little loud. But ill take that over those temps. Tried to move into the living room but for the size of the space it worked up until the hottest part of the day then it couldn't keep up. Still pumping out cold air just not enough for those temps. When it hits temp and clicks on and off it was pretty noisy though and will wake you and the dog up. The dog did not like it. For the price though, I have no regrets. It will get us through the small amount of hot spells we get here in Canada.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Disappointed with this air conditioner

It did not cool the bedroom room much. The temperature stayed around 26 degrees inside the room when it was in the thirties outside. The tubing got very hot and I found the air conditioner noisy.

No, I do not recommend this product.
