A: The directions on the bottle suggest adding it to a nearly empty tank and then filling up with gas. Then run the tank nearly empty again.

Q: I notice the Gumout Regane High Mileage/Complete Fuel System Cleaner has a new label and on the front it no longer prints that it contains PEA. Can you confirm the product still contains polyetheramine additive?

Q: Is the product still effective even tho I didn’t add it to a nearly empty tank prior to fill up, I added it after to a 3/4 full tank?

A: Hi Jogpal, thanks for your question on Gumout Regane High Mileage Fuel System Cleaner. The product will still be effective even if you have added it after a fill up to your 3/4 full tank. One 177 mL will effectively treat up to 72 litres of fuel and adding it after a fill up is not an issue as the additive will disperse and mix into in the fuel thoroughly, and deliver very effective fuel system cleaning performance. Q: Does Gumout® Regane® High Mileage Fuel System Cleaner still contain P.E.A? Yesterday I picked up few bottles of this stuff and the bottles had a different look/label on them. There was nothing mentioned about P.E.A.

Q: What percentage of PEA is in this additive?

A: We cannot provide a specific answer to question as the formula details are proprietary. Adding one bottle to a full tank, typically 45-65 liters will provide a higher than recommended treat rate since the product is designed to treat 79 liters. For a large capacity fuel tank (e.g. 130 L) add two bottles. More than that is generally not required. This is a complete fuel system cleaners that contain PEA at a level that provides 1-tank clean-up of the entire fuel system including injectors (even gasoline direct injectors), intake valves and combustion chambers at the recommended treat rate. The High Mileage product also contains a friction modifier that reduces internal engine friction to improve fuel economy. PEA is the most effective technology for cleaning the entire fuel system. It can be used for small 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines using about 1 ml to 11 liters of gasoline (plus oil if 2-cycle). Many other detergents will not clean the combustion chamber, and some products may actually make deposits worse in some areas of the engine
