Discovering gnats is never pleasant, and we apologize for this. Our peat-free soils are rich in organic matter which adds wonderful nutrients to your plants but can occasionally create conditions that fungus gnats are attracted to, particularly in warm and moist environments. The good news is gnats are common and manageable with a little moisture control. To help prevent gnats, allow the soil to dry out completely, and check the soil moisture below the surface before watering (overwatering is the usually the issue).
