Too early for much snow but my initial thoughts are positive. Ride comfort is very good and there was very little road noise. CTC was insistent that we return after 100km to have the lug nuts tightened. As was promised, this was done in minutes by a cheerful employee. Saving the fifth star until we see some snow!

Tires are good, has not snowed yet so not 100% sure yet, not happy with the service as the did the alignment but FORGOT to balance the tires, i noticed the jiggling of the vehicle and had to go back to make an appointment to have it fixed, no apology for the error was received

Tires look to be super nice and I’m sure will preform awesome in the snowy conditions, I’m not impressed with the job Canadian tire did mounting these tires. They scratched my rims and some of the studs were in sideways or completely missed the stud hole. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of the tire quality not the awful Canadian tire technicians.

Q: What is the UTQG rating for these tires? (Traction, temperature, and treadwear)

A: Quote from a tire manufacturer. "UTQG markings are not required for deep-treaded light truck tires, winter/snow tires, temporary spare tires, trailer tires, and tires under 12-inches in diameter" Because they're meant for winter conditions, a valid UTQG code compared to a summer tire is not possible. Winter tires typically have a softer runner compound for the colder temperature. This would result in accelerated wear if used in summer. However from experience (2 sets) I can say the the Altimax are a very good winter tire with the first set lasting me 5-6 winters
