Hard pass on Sunjoy BBQ gazebo!

Purchased this BBQ gazebo in 2021, now in 2025 the roof panels are starting to rust! Contacted CTC and was swiftly referred to Sunjoy to address my concerns. Sunjoy wouldn't acknowledge that roof material was defective and responded by stating " the product is discontinued, I hope you understand". That's very lame service for a $600 product.. definitely won't buy from CTC or Sunjoy when I replace the gazebo.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: 4 to 5 inches of snow limit on the roof is pretty low. Can you verify that it's not 4 to 5 feet instead? Also, can anyone share their winter outside storage and snow accumulation experience?

  • A: I have only had my BBQ gazebo for one winter, There was approx. 12 to 14 inches of snow on the roof . No damage. I did not cover it.

Q: Can you shorten the height (option to cut the leg posts?  I can t have higher than 7 feet as I want to put it against my house and I only have abt 7.5 feet max

  • A: There are feet welded to the bottom of the legs. If you cut the legs shorter you would have to fabricate some sort of foot to spread the load and secure the gazebo to the ground.

Q: Can this unit be located adjacent to the house?  The idea is to be able to BBQ in the rain or snow and locate this grill gazebo on an existing deck.

  • A: Approximately 2 hours with 2 people. Easily done with one person as well as long as you can follow directions. That is where most of the time is spent...figuring out your next move.

Q: Can you clarify what will happen if more than 5 inches of snow accumulates on the roof? Ensuring that this small amount of snow is constantly cleared is not a reasonable expectation during the winter season.

  • A: It’s a pretty strong unit with steel roofing so we never took the snow off this last winter (ottawa) and it was fine.  Many times the snow just slid off but not always. Much better than the ones with plastic or canvas tops.

Q: Can the boxed size fit in an SUV?? Purchasing for my friend as surprise for Birthday so trying to sneak it home on my own..... will This be possible? What's the largest box dimension? Thanks!!!

Q: What is the total footprint?  I already understand 8' x 5' from canopy overhang?  What about the feet at the bottom?  What is the minimum dimension, on a deck, needed to anchor the unit?

Q: I'm trying to create a privacy area in the back corner of my yard. Has anybody considered using something like this as a small 'gazebo' for a bench or part of seating area?
