Perfect wall-mounted EV charging receptacle. With some fiddling and appropriately routed wires cut and stripped to the right lengths, this box can accommodate a 6/3 cable. RV & EV surge protector #040-1986-2 fits inside this box. Although the door won't close fully with both the EV charger plug and the surge protector plugged in, it can still be locked with a suitably sized padlock (see photo).

Don't buy

Do not buy. Absolutely the worst design. The door won't stay open so you need three hands to make connections. The face plate screws are tiny Philips head that are impossible to install once conductors are terminated. There's barely enough space to connect conductors. It's a 50A receptacle so why are there so many sized openings ie the conductor size is #8 so make it fit. I wasted 2 hrs trying to install this and finally gave up.
