Hardly used Impact Driver Broke

I bought the Combo 3 years ago and the Impact Driver broke. I mainly use the Drill and it works great with good run time, and the charge is holding after 3 years, quick recharge. I use the impact driver for snugging up lug nuts twice a year during tire change over. This year I built a wooden retaining wall where I used the Driver for 10 inch screws , after 8 screws the driver would not spin. Looking online seems a common problem. If you are looking for a drill good choice, if you plan to use the impact driver look for a different brand.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: the drill is it hammer? if not the impact screw driver can be use to make a hole in a concrete slab?

A: The drill included in the DCK248D2 kit is the DCD771 20V MAX* Cordless Drill/Driver. This model is not a hammer drill, so it is not designed for drilling into concrete or masonry. The impact driver in the kit, the DCF885, is designed for driving screws and fasteners, not in concrete. Using an impact driver to drill into concrete is not recommended, as it may damage the tool or the bit and will not be effective. For drilling holes in a concrete slab, you will need a hammer drill with a masonry bit. If you need to drill into concrete regularly, consider a DEWALT hammer drill or rotary hammer for best results.
