Very low output

I’ve had this turbine for over a year now and have never seen it put out more than 62 watts. This is about 5 amps. It goes into over speed shutdown at between 18 to 20 mph wind speed. On average it only puts out about 30 watts equal to 2.5 charging amps. About the amount of a trickle charger. I would not recommend this product.

Great build quality.

I set this up at my place on a lake thinking with the amount of wind I get it would supply power constantly. Unfortunately the wind comes in too extremes, it's either to strong and the unit goes into auto shutdown or no wind at all. When the wind is a nice steady breeze it works perfectly and does a good job of topping up the batterys. I only gave it 5 stars because I would like it to have a higher over speed shutdown rating . Seems to go into safe mode at anything over a 35 kph wind.

Quality unit!

The build quality of this seems terrific. The power produced varies greatly depending on wind speeds. It needs clean and clear wind to do very well. Read the fine print on the box... 400w max with 28mph constant wind, only 35w at 12 mph constant wind. Good to assist a small solar array, but won't do a lot on it's own unless you live in a very windy area that had clean wind flow (no trees)

Q: Can it be hooked up to the power meter instead of batteries?
2 Answers
A: If you are talking about the power meter at the side of your house (like you plan to power 120 AC devices from a separate electrical panel) you would need to buy an inverter to put in between. Maybe talk to an electrician first.
