Q: How do they perform in a foreted area??? Are they strong enough to transmit at least 1km?

A: Hello, Range is very dependent on external factors and line of sight operation. It is possible that the radio can reach 1km in a forested area, but it depends on how dense the forest, the terrain, other obstructions, and interference. High power channels will have a greater chance of increasing range.

Good little commuicators

Bought the pair of radios for a car trip with my family in a second vehicle, and they worked a charm. At one point we were separated by about 3 km and the reception between the two units was very good.
