Good drop-in replacement for old Liftmaster opener

Compatible with old track and sensors. Easy to take out old motor unit and just drop this in. Had to replace the fixed open button though since the new one uses new signalling and has additional function.
User manual is pretty misleading about how to program 3rd party remotes and Homelink. You must use the yellow Learn button on the motor unit and cannot use a similarly named feature from the fixed button.

Q: I’d like to replace an old 1993 Craftsman garage door open with this one. Do I need to replace the rail etc or can I just attach it to the existing rail and chain that is there already?

A: Although your new garage door opener may appear similar in design to your old opener, our recommendation is that you replace the entire opener. This includes mounting hardware, rails, wired door controls and wireless remote devices.

A: Call me old fashioned. My adult children will need to enter the garage. The old remote is on the wall. It would be convenient to have it working again. They shouldn’t have to download the app - nor do they want to.

Q: It's been 2 months since I bought it, when I program the Travel, I keep getting an error sound. As the manual says, if you press the Adjustment and up, adjustment, down, and adjustment buttons, the up button blinks again and the door opens again.

Q: Is this string enough to lift a double garage door? Does it have a weight rating?

A: A double door should open as easily as a single door if the springs are set right. I purchased one of these openers and was so pleased I bought a second one for my other garage door. East to install, the remote has good range. You should have no problem using this opener.
