    CCM Ruckus kids bike

I gave 3 stars as on the first ride one of brake grip lever broke. Other than that bike is good for the price. Gear shifter is hard to use knowing it’s a kids bike. For beginner it is good.

    Good bike, indifferent assembly

The bike itself is very nice and sturdy, a bit on the heavy side but that's fair for the price point. The store assembly was quite a bit of a disaster though. Some of the brakes were misaligned and some too tight (rubbing on the wheels even when released), the derailleur was limited correctly but otherwise almost but not quite aligned with the sprockets, and the wheels were incredibly tight with no play whatsoever and so hard to turn. I had to spend half a day tuning my kids' bikes all over. The kids were very much disappointed since that half a day was meant for biking not for mechanical work.

    Questions

    1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: How do you use the gear shifter?

    1 Answer
    • A: Please see page 36-37 of the bike manual, specifically the info regarding "twist" shifters. ▪ Twist left shifter towards the back to shift front derailleur to a higher gear. ▪ Twist left shifter towards front to shift front derailleur to a lower gear. ▪ Twist right shifter towards front to shift the rear derailleur to a higher gear. ▪ Twist right shifter towards the back to shift the rear derailleur to a lower gear. Note: Do not shift gears when you are not pedalling, or pedalling backwards as this could damage the derailleurs. Note: Avoid shifting gears when pedaling under heavy force or on a steep incline as this can make the chain drop, damage the components, make you lose control, and/or fall and cause injury. Note: Learn how to operate your shifters without looking! You should always be looking in front of you and around while riding your bike. Note: If chain drops, stop pedalling immediately. Trying to get it back on the gear by pedalling could damage your frame and components.
