I bought this 2 days ago and set it up. It’s sturdy. A real design flaw is the ball mounted on a spring. My cat jumped down from the platform above it and landed right on it with his stomach. It’s is a sturdy spring and I could hear the sound of the thud as it banged into his stomach. It didn’t bend so it was like him jumping down onto a wooden stick with a ball on it. I’ve removed it. It’s in a really terrible location in my opinion.

Cat tower is very sturdy. It is not covered in carpet but more like a fun fur. My kitten loves to climb it and naps on the top in the sun.
