Q: I have a tent trailer that is about 1300lbs.....are the carlisle sport lh b good enough. I would have 2 wheels...it says single trailer tire only...and 1100lb capacity...

  • A: A 530x12 4ply carries 855lbs per tire so combined this will give you 1,710 lbs capacity & the wheels are rated for 1,520 lbs each so the wheels will carry the weight. So to answer your question the 4ply would be enough to carry the weight. However I would always recommend going to a heavier ply rating in this case it would be the 6ply as each tire carries 1,050 lbs so that gives you 2,100 lbs of tire carrying capacity. You need to take into account what you will be loading into to the trailer as well when your pulling it as the trailer weight doesn’t take into account additional weight that gets added. In my opinion it never hurts to have the extra carrying capacity as that will be less pressure on what the tire is capable of handling.

  • A: Trailer tires that are the same size but with different load ratings will have different capacities. A load range C tire will have a higher capacity than a load range B tire of the same size.
