Q: I just purchased this firepit and its still in the box. After reading reviews reporting rusting issues, I am wondering if I should return it. What is the warranty period? Is rusting covered by the warranty?

A: Had it for 9 months now. Bought an Amazon cover for it when we bought covers for the patio set so it held up for the first 8 months however after leaving it out for only two rainfalls uncovered it started peeling and the grate is rusting. Still think it is decent for its price as I knew I wasn't buying a high grade powder coated product at that price. Return it if you don't plan to buy a $25 plastic chair cover for it and be adamant about keeping it covered.

A: Depending on weather and whether it is covered. I suggest buying the fabric cover and using it when possible. We have had ours for 2 years and it is in great condition.

Q: Does the 31” measurement include the legs, or is it the diameter of the round metal part?

A: An excellent question since I’ve never found one of these that exactly tells the size in which one burns the wood. That is it’s size in the description or on the box. A rule of thumb is it will be inches less. The diameter of the round metal part of this one is 27”. I think of it as the bowl. The 31” would be including the legs which to me is who cares.

A: Yes mine has a full size grate. One caution is about protecting the screen cover. I recommend storing it in winter. All if you can say store under your cottage or turn the unit over. Helps any rusting. Other units did not have replacement screens which wear out first. None that I could find requiring buying a whole new unit. Unknown if replacements are avaiable for this one.

Poor Quality

I am so disappointed with this fire pit. I bought this less than a year ago and it almost immediately started rusting. All the metal mesh from around the sides on the lid has completely rusted out and broken off. The bottom looks like it’s going to collapse. I paid over $200 for this and it’s already unusable. It’s really unfortunate because I loved it the first time I used it - it was high capacity and kept all the embers in - but that won’t last for long. I’d recommend spending your money on a higher quality brand.

Cheap for a reason

Bought this in the spring 2022 and bottom collapsed in July of 2025. It’s cheap for a reason. It started to rust very quickly and eventually was garbage.
