The Bosch HDS181A-02 Compact Tough 1/2 In. Hammer Drill/Driver kit delivers a drill with Bosch's innovative, canned 18V motor, making it a lighter tool with a more compact design but the same driving power as the previous generation of 18V hammer drill/driver. The HDS181A features a heavy-duty chuck that helps prevent drill bits from slipping during high-torque applications, thanks to high clamping force. The drill is a powerful tool, providing 600 In.-Lbs. of torque and two drilling speeds (0-1,700 RPM for high speed and 0-500 RPM for torque). It also delivers up to 27,000 BPM in hammer mode for masonry. It is one of the tools in the Bosch Compact Tough design, with the shortest head-length in class (7.5 In. long) and a weight of only 2.7 Lbs., but with plenty of power. It has an Electronic Motor Protection system to help protect it from overload. This kit comes with two 18V 2.0 Ah SlimPack batteries and an 18V charger. The drill provides an LED light for visibility in hard-to-see areas.

    Junk inferior Hammerdrill

    I bought this drill less than a month ago, using it maybe a few times, and today the trigger switch broke and pieces of plastic fell out. Not happy and hope Menards warranties it.

    I love the CLPK222-181! I use it for many projects and really like the results. The batterie seems to last forever, but when recharge is necessary the second one keeps me going.

    I've had this drill for several years now. It's light, powerful and the battery charges really fast. Tuck it in to your tool belt pouch and squeeze into tight spots. Quick change bits. You can't go wrong with this tool.
