Q: What country does the nyjer seed come from?

A: Nyjer is an agricultural crop imported primarily from India, Ethiopia, Nepal and Burma (Myanmar). In these countries, it is processed into both cooking and lighting oil. You may also see it called Nyger.

Great Product

I have been using this all year and the gold finches love it. Once I open a bag and fill the finch feeders, the bag has a ziplock to reseal. I then keep it in the freezer till I need to use it again.... this seems to keeps the oil from drying out on the seeds. My feeders are hung in the trees which prevents them from getting moldy when it rains. I started this sprig and have had to buy multiple bags this year because it has attracted a lot of finches. This is my first year doing this again in a long time, and I will stick with this brand, because it has worked well for me (in not spoiling) and the birds for food :)
