We only use the above 3M Filtrete Allergen Defense Micro Allergen Filter, 1000 on our furnace. I change it more regularly than recommended and we found it saves duration life of furnace. I wait till Canadian Tire has them on sale and purchase several months of filters. The A/C worked incredibly harder this 2025 summer than any other summer. This summer I changed filter every month. My blower was still clean upon fall inspection last week! It is worth planning, investing and replacing with good 3M furnace filters.
