The 3M Automotive Performance Masking Tape, 6-mm x 55-m, will make your next automotive project go smoothly. The flexible backing conforms to curves and contours without breaking, so you won't waste material. The special adhesive resists lifting and peeling, while the edge curl is minimal. A primer layer reduces bleed-through and adhesive transfer onto your fresh paint job. A release coating reduces the force needed to unwind the tape, so you won't get wrinkles or paint blow-by. Available in a 6 mm width and 55-meter length, this 3M tape is ideal for medium-sized masking jobs on your car, truck, RV, or motorcycle. Use it to protect trim, body panels, windows, and more while you spray paint or apply graphics. When your project is done, the tape comes out cleanly and easily, revealing your automotive artwork in perfect condition.

Great product, outperforms any usual run of the mill tape. A bit pricey and rarely on sale, but not commonly available outside of auto body supply stores. If you need to mask curves or irregular shapes for painting, this makes the job much easier. The quality of this made in Canada tape eclipses all similar communist-regime items.

A: Short answer yes. Long answer...Depends on how good the previous prep was on the old wall. Thick tape might peel old paint off. It's a bit stickier that Dollar store paint tape. Good quality without weeping through, clean lines.
