    Leaks

This feeder slowly leaks over time from the base which consist of two parts that comes apart for cleaning. There needs to be some kind of rubber gasket between the two sections that prevents the liquid from dripping out. Buying a feeder that has a gasket in.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    excellent feeder

I've had this particular model of feeder for almost 10 years and the birds seem to like it. That said, it isn't like I took a poll or did any scientific tests to discover if they really do like this particular model of feeder versus any other particular model of feeder. Intuitively, the little foot rests seem like a nice option for the birds, rather than making them have to flap their wings like mad in order to get something to eat! I would rather sit down, so it seems like a funny idea to me that some feeders don't have foot rests. In fact, other than the foot rests, I doubt that hummingbirds give a second thought to the configuration of feeder; if there is clean 'healthy' food in it, then they will consume it. No complicated decisions necessary. Mine has never leaked. I've even put mine through the dishwasher in the past, but I haven't bothered doing that for a number of years now... I fill mine with 2 cups of water + 1/2 cup sugar, boiled 5 minutes then left to cool until it is room temperature. A batch of food like that usually lasts a couple of weeks, depending on how hungry the hummingbirds are.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Quality problem

Bought this feeder a few days ago. Initially liked it. Previous one was plastic with feeding holes big enough to let yellow jackets in as well. Not so with this one. Also like the fact there are 4 feeding stations, so 2 can sit down without seeing each other. However, the feeder started leaking. The bottom plastic unit consists of several parts, and the sealing gave out. Maybe I've got a lemon. Will return it tomorrow and get a similar feeder to give it one more try.

No, I do not recommend this product.
