You can also browse by size if you know the section width, aspect ratio and diameter. We recommend you review your vehicle manual beforehand for more specific information such as tire model and compatibility to ensure you make the right purchase. If you’re still unsure about what to buy, consult with a trained professional at one of our auto service centres.
What Are the Different Kinds of Tires?
All season: If you won’t be driving in snowy winter conditions, then all season tires are a good option. These tires provide traction in dry and wet road conditions, but their effectiveness decreases when the temperature drops below 7°C.
All weather: All weather tires are like a hybrid between all season and winter tires. If you live in an area with mild winter conditions, minimal snowfall and temperatures around 0°C, then these tires will do the trick.
Winter: Winter tires are designed for increased traction, grip and better breaking control in heavy snowfall, ice or sleet. These tires are highly recommended for driving in snowy conditions and harsh winters. For more information, see our video How to Choose Winter Tires.
All terrain: Thanks to their open-tread design, these tires live up to their name. Ideal for both on and off-roading driving, these tires are better suited for vehicles like pickup trucks, SUVs and campers.
Truck: Truck tires are designed to support a heavier vehicle weight while creating a smooth and even ride. Whether you use your vehicle for work, leisure, or both, truck tires will give you on-road comfort and off-road durability in various driving conditions.
Performance: As the name suggests, these types of tires are made for sports cars and other high-performance vehicles. They provide better traction and handling response at higher speeds in both wet and dry conditions.
