    GENERAL TIRE MAINTENANCE

    Before the Season

    Before the Season

    • Inspect tires for any signs of cracking or uneven wear patterns. If any tires appear to be damaged, replace them to avoid failure while towing.
    • If the trailer was stored on the ground, inspect the tires for any flat spots. Minor flat spots can even out through use, but severe flat spots can cause a rough ride and lead to premature failure.
    • Check the tire pressure – consult your owner’s manual for the correct pressure for your trailer.
    During the Season

    During the Season

    • Periodically, check tire pressure to ensure that tires are at the correct pressure.
    • Keep the maximum load limits in mind when loading your trailer. Overloading can lead to tire failure.
    • Ensure that valve caps are in place to avoid contaminants in your tire
    End of the Season

    End of the Season

    • Check the condition of the tires – if any appear to be cracking or having excess or uneven wear, consider replacing them.
    • Inflate tires to the correct pressure, as indicated in your manual.
    • Store trailer in a cool, dry place away from heat sources, if possible.
    • Use block or jack stands to avoid flat spots.
    • If possible, remove all non-essential weight from the trailer before storing.
