How to patch your lawn

Fix those dried out yellow spots by simply patching your lawn

7 STEPS

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

STEP 1

Rake gently.

Prepare the soil by raking gently to remove debris.

STEP 2

Be sure to pick up any stones and kill all weeds in the area.

STEP 3

Spread a thin layer of fresh soil.

STEP 4

Add fertilizer, then mix the fertilizer into the soil by gently raking the area and levelling out the surface.

STEP 5

Spread seed.

Immediately sprinkle grass seed using a seed spreader. To ensure the area is evenly covered, sprinkle the seeds over the patch length-wise, then width-wise. Rake the area gently to help the seed into the soil.

STEP 6

Watering the area should take the seed down to the correct depth in the loose soil.

STEP 7

Alternatively, you can use a piece of sod to patch your lawn.
