CANADIAN TIRE LIMITED WARRANTY FOR PASSENGER AND LIGHT TRUCK TIRES
PO BOX 770, Station K, Toronto, On, M4P 2V8
Canadian Tire Corporation Limited ("Canadian Tire") provides this warranty, which is honoured by all Canadian Tire Associate Stores across Canada.
Warranty eligibility*
Protection Plan is part of Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited's Customer
Care Program for tires which covers the original owner of new passenger
or light truck tires purchased, installed and balanced at a Canadian Tire Associate
Store as long as the tires have been used only on the vehicle on which they
were originally installed. The original work order/invoice must be presented
in order for this warranty to be honoured.
* · Applies to tires purchased after January 1, 2005
What is covered?
Road Hazard Damage and Manufacturing Defects are covered for
the life of the original useable tread** or five years from the date of purchase,
whichever comes first.
** Usable tread is the original tread worn down to the level of the tread
wear indicators, which is 2/32" of tread remaining.
Road Hazard Damage is tire damage caused by debris or hazards on the road including cuts or punctures, run flats or impact breaks.
For Road Hazard Damage, Canadian Tire will, at our option, either:- Repair the tire at no charge if it falls within Canadian Tire repair policy
guidelines.
Installation and balancing costs are additional and are the responsibility of the tire owner.OR
- Replace the tire if it is not repairable at a pro rata replacement price based on usage.
Installation and balancing costs are additional and are the responsibility of the tire owner.
For Manufacturing Defects Canadian Tire will, at our option, either:
- Replace, reinstall and balance tires at no charge if the tire is rendered unserviceable due to a Manufacturing Defect with tread wear of 2/32 or less.
- Replace a tire rendered unserviceable by a Manufacturing Defect that does
not qualify for a no charge replacement, with a comparable tire on a pro rata
price basis. Replacement cost is based on the current regular everyday price
of the tire.
Installation and balancing costs are additional and are the responsibility of the tire owner.
OR
A pro-rated price simply means that you only pay for the amount of the tread used above the 2/32" tread wear indicators. For example: If a new tire has a tread depth of 11/32", the usable tread is 9/32" (11/32" less 2/32"). If the tread depth at the time the tire is presented for adjustment under this warranty is 8/32" the usable tread remaining is 6/32" (8/32" less 2/32"). One third of the tread depth has been used and the replacement cost will be based on 33% of the current regular everyday price.
What is not covered?
Service Abuse such as obstruction damage or wheel spinning. Tires that become unserviceable due to any type of service abuse are not covered under this Protection Plan for tires.

Mileage ratings
Mileage Ratings (e.g. 100,000 km, 120,000 km, 130,000 km) are a helpful guide
when making a tire choice but are not related to this Protection Plan for tires.
Canadian Tire's Mileage Ratings, expressed in kilometres, identify what can
be expected from tires when, according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations:
- Inflation pressures have been maintained
- Rotations have been performed as scheduled
- Individual driving habits
- Condition of the vehicles suspension
- Road surface travelled
- Vehicle loads
Tire care tips
- Maintain proper tire inflation pressure as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. This information can be found either: on the door placard, in the glove box, in the owner's manual, or on the back of the gas tank lid
- Rotate tires every 10,000 km or based on vehicle manufacturer's recommendations or at the first sign of irregular wear
- Do not exceed the maximum load carrying capability of your tires (listed on the sidewall)
- Check tires for scrapes, bulges, separations, and cuts
- Respect speed limits and adjust your speed to driving conditions
- Make every attempt to avoid running over objects that may damage your tires
- Refer to the Rubber Association of Canada website www.betiresmart.ca for more tips on proper tire care
