WHAT YOU'LL NEED

STEP 1

Stabilize fuel tank.

First, if you are storing indoors - it’s important to stabilize the fuel with a full tank of gas in your lawn mower since gas that sits all winter long can clog the carburetor.

STEP 2

Run engine to empty gas.

Alternatively, If you’re storing indoors, run the engine until the gas is gone.

STEP 3

Change oil.

Changing the oil will ensure your lawn mower is in great shape throughout the winter months.

STEP 4

Use mothballs.

An extra tip for those who are storing their mower in a garage – stick a few mothballs near the engine to avert those nesting rodents. Finally, check your lawn mower for loose screws and bolts or any damages that should be fixed before the off season. Clear out any buildup of grass or debris.

Additional information for residents of Quebec only: The regular annual rate for persons applying for the Triangle Mastercard and the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is 21.99% for cash transactions and related fees and 21.99% for all other charges. The minimum payment is the sum of (a) the greater of: (i) interest and fees shown on your statement + $10; or (ii) 5% of the New Balance, excluding amounts on special payment plans, (b) any balance over your credit limit, (c) any amounts past due not included in (b) above, and (d) the amount of any equal payments plan instalments then due.
