ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS

ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS

Why?

Engine diagnostics can identify emissions or sensor problems, and in some case, prevent catalytic converter damage.

When?

If the Check Engine Light comes on, it is a warning of an emissions or sensor problem and should be analyzed. If the light flashes, the condition is more severe and must be checked immediately.

What's included?

• Road test to determine current system performance.
• Check of vehicle's computer for fault codes.
• A detailed, written Vehicle Inspection Report.

ENGINE TUNE-UP

Engine Analysis

Why?

An Engine Analysis will determine exactly what is needed to get your vehicle running at its best.

When?

To determine the best time to get an engine tune-up, please refer to your owner's manual or consult one of our Auto Service representatives.

What's included?

• Replacing spark plugs with your choice of brand.
• Comprehensive tune-up inspection with a written Vehicle Inspection Report.

BATTERY HEALTH TEST

Battery Health

Why?

Batteries have a limited life and eventually need to be replaced. When a battery fails, the vehicle will not start, and could leave you stranded, requiring a tow or battery boost.

When?

• At a minimum, every 6 months (ideally at the beginning of summer and winter).
• If it takes longer than normal to start up or the vehicle fails to crank over at start-up.
• With every oil change.

What's included?

• Computerized check of the battery's health and performance with printout.
• Visual inspection of the battery mounting brackets as well as battery cables and terminals.
• Detailed written estimate for items requiring adjustment, repair or replacement.

STARTING AND CHARGING PERFORMANCE TEST

Charging Test

Why?

A weak component can cause premature wear in other system components or cause the entire system to fail. For example, a weak battery left unchecked can overwork the alternator, ultimately causing it to fail.

When?

Get this test if the dashboard battery warning light is illuminated; when the battery, starter or alternator is replaced; if the vehicle has trouble or fails to crank over at start-up; or there is a noticeable slow cranking or noise on startup.

What's included?

• Computerized diagnosis of your vehicle's battery, starter and alternator.
• Inspection of alternator drive belt.
• Inspection of cable connections (including ground and battery terminals).
• Evaluation based on the manufacturer's specifications and our technician's recommendations.
• Detailed written estimate for items requiring adjustment, repair or replacement.

AIR CONDITIONING HEALTH CHECK

AC Health Check

Why?

Inadequate cooling can be caused by refrigerant leaks, high temperatures, high pressure, or by system restrictions caused by dirt, corrosion, moisture and air.

What's included?

• Visual inspection of all air conditioning components.
• Check of refrigerant pressure.
• Check on vent temperature.
• Electronic leak detection test.
• Written report and estimate of any work that may be required.

BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS

ABS

Why?

To determine which components of the ABS aren’t working properly.

When to have this done

Get your brake systems checked whenever the ABS light is illuminated.

What's included?

• Road test to assess system performance.
• Evaluation of ABS trouble code and recommendations.
• Inspection of your brake system with a written evaluation.
• Written estimate for items requiring adjustment repair or replacement.
