Good set

"This is one of the most complete drill bit sets I've seen. It's got most of the sizes you'll ever need. The smaller bits are on the fragile side and I have broken one. But to put it in perspective the one I broke was so slamm I needed to wrap the shank in tape so it'd fit into the chuck of the drill. The larger sizes I've never had any issue with.

When this is on sale for $50, it's not beatable as far as value goes."

"Not sure if i purchased a bad set or what after reading all the other reviews. As everyone else stated the case is just plain junk. Mine dosent close or lock properly and have had the drills on teh ground evreytime i have used them. I find them far to brittle for anything other than drilling wood. I have broken severall drilling out body metal and mild steel. They catch on a edge and snap. They do not stay shatp at all. I find that after one hole they are dull and usless. I even use cutting oil when working with them and this dosent help. I would not recoment these to anyone"

"I've had this set for quite a while now... and honestly have used it only a few times.

Simply because without an old style chuck on the drill where you can crank down with a key... these bits will just spin around and around in my Makita/Dewalt cordless drills.

Yes... softwood, mdf you name it... you might get half a turn before they slip in the chuck... You cannont tighten them enough...

Now... if you decide to pick up an old style drill with a key for the chuck... they work great once you tighten them to the point they scar the finish enough to grip...

Definately not user friendly for every day use... but they will last for years sitting in the cupboard."

Good Bits

"This is an excellent value considering the price and the quality of the bits. The box is a little light, but if you are using this for jobs around the farm, or house, or for that matter woodworking, this set is perfect. Heavier drilling with a press and into steel and these bits can break easier than heavier bits. Overall very pleased with this set."

Box only problem with this great bit set

"The only complaint that I have about this set, is the cheap box that they come with. Top quality, durable bit and the box they come in is only average in design and construction. The latch is second rate and the mechanism for lifting the bit up is poor. Buy the set for the bits not the box. A great buy when on sale. Happy with my purchase."

Great starter set!

"If you don't want to shell out the $400 for a professional set of bits, this is a great starter kit. It has every size one could think of using and for the sale price of $49 how could you go wrong? These can cover almost anything except maybe stainless steel where they would dull and wear out quite quickly."

Probably got a lemon

"I bought a set because I didn't have a large selection of drill bits. I sure do now. And It was on sale. When I got the box home and opened it up, I was disappointed right away. The bits that are in the lid were scattered all over the place. The little strip of metal that holds them in was broken off so they all fell down into the hinge of the case. So I had to take out a caliper to measure every bit to put them back in the right hole. To my suprise, I had alot of doubles and some sizes are missing."

Answer:

It does not have a “J” .2756 - 7mm. The closest item in the set is the # 7 TiN Drill Bit No-3 Flats. There is also a 9/32 -.2812 TiN Nit DB no-3 Flats.

Which picture is the good one in the product description?

Question:

First picture has less drill bits and more screwdriver bits than the second picture! (right-hand "steps-holder" of the box).

Answer:

It's the second pic. It comes with both sides and back full of drill bits as well as the nut drivers and what not.

I bought this on sale last time, great set no doubt about it!

Go grab one.
