Not my best experience

"Bought this fan 18 month ago and while its great looking DECORATIVE piece, it failed miserably in its intended purpose. It wobbles, makes a lot of noise, we have actually never had a nerve to turn it to full speed as we were afraid it would fly off the ceiling!

So we have a lighting fixture instead. It seems that most respondents here have similar issues with the noise. Good luck to all."

Issue with the lights dimming AND SOLUTION!

"After using this fan for 4 months we had an issue with the lights dimming. Normally right after we turned the lights on, they went as bright as they should be, then dimmed to half the normally intensity.
I solved this by removing the "power limiter" from the light curcuit (its the small box with 3 wires going to it and says "power limiter". It's not hard to do, if you can assemble the fan, you can do this.
TURN OFF THE POWER, then open the bottom part of the light. locate the power limiter and cut the red, white and black wires then discard the power limiter. Put a marette on the white wire. Strip some of the black and red wires, twist them together, and install a marette. Turn the power on, check the lights to see if you did it right, then reassemble."

Looks too good to be this bad.

"Bought this unit 052-4328-4 a week ago at a truly amazing sale price of $41.99. Tried to install it today only to find the motor hums irritably at all speeds and no matter where I stick pennies or nickels I cannot get it balanced to where it does'nt rattle against itself internally. I am truly disappointed because this is a very good looking fan. The finish is flawless, the glass parts are thick and heavy, the reversible blades are defect free and aside from not much room in the light kit to stuff all the wiring, quite well finished. I will be returning it tomorrow.
as a side note, I also hate candelabra base bulbs. Canadian tire has a very bright fix. Noma 60w. high efficiency Halogen chandelier bulbs which provide more than enough light in this type of fixture and only use 43w of power to do it.

"I purchased this a week ago during CT sale event and got it for 50% off. For this price it was worth it.
The fan looks good, it is easy to install and works great. It is silent and it provides nice breeze."

Nice looking fan

"Purchased this fan a few months ago, wanted one with a remote and when this went on sale we grabbed it for our master bedroom. It was relatively easy to install (it IS still a ceiling fan, after all) and I really like the finish. It is pretty quiet, even on high. My only complaint is that it takes the smaller candelabra-base bulbs, and the manual says max. 60w, so the light isn't bright enough to be able to see things in the closet, do make-up etc. I'll have to see if I can find higher wattage bulbs, or even clear ones, to see if that helps. Also, didn't really realize that the remote would be the ONLY way to control it ... but, overall, we like it fine."

Worst purchase ever.

"This fan is terrible. I bought two of them, one didn't work at all... the other worked but didn't move any air. 2 out of 3 of the glass light cover things cracked and one of them fell to the ground...

In the end, I wouldn't recommend these even if they are in working order since they don't provide any air movement."

Works well

"Initially encountered the 'humming' that others talked about, but I did some reading and found that the problem was that I had installed it on the existing fixture box, which wasn't adequate to hold it in place.

Replaced with a more secure box and re-installed and found it much quieter.

Good appearance and inexpensive, especially for the sale price."

Loud humm

"I got this on sale for $49 instead of another model for $120. Wish I had stuck with the original plan. I wasted a lot of time installing this fan and cannot get rid of the humming noise it makes between the motor flange and the mounting bracket. You may not get the humming sound, but another user mentioned the company is bankrupt which may explain why this fan is so cheap. Best to avoid the risk."

"I purchased this fan barely 2 years ago put it up in my kitchen and the motor is siezed up and when I tried to contact the company they went bankrupt. So unluss Canadian tire will take it back or exchange it for a new one I guess I am out a fan. other than that I really liked the look of the fan.

Answer:

There are two kinds of dimmer switches, which are remote control and dimmer wall switch. However, this Ceiling Fan (#052-4328) cannot install a remote control because there is not enough space in the housing to install the remote receiver. Besides, the vendor hasn’t made a dimmer wall switch with the Ceiling Fan before.

Why are light bulbs in this fan burning out so quickly?

Question:

I've had this fan installed for 4 weeks and I have replaced 3 energy efficent spiral CFL light bulbs. Why are these bulbs brning out so quickly?

Answer:

My fan motor hums constantly at all speeds and aside from being irritating it is a vibration. It may be, this vibration (frequency) is not well tolerated by some CFL bulbs. I use CFL's in my very expensive Hunter fans with no issues. Also it's worth noting that there are vastly varying degrees of quality regarding CFL bulbs. (ie A six pack for $6.00 may not be the way to go.)

Answer:

The vibration from the fan may be shortening the life of the bulbs. Try switching to bulbs that less sensitive to vibration.

Answer:

I have a different ceiling fan installed in my house that works fine with the older style bulbs and when I switched over to the spiral high efficiency bulbs I had the same problem. Sounds horrible for the environment however I will stick to the regular bulbs in my fan. (I did make sure I had used the correct wattage and normally use 40W regular bulbs anyway)

Answer:

ONE REASON I KNOW WHY BULBS BURN OUT SO QUICKLY IS DUE TO HAVING THE WRONG WATTAGE. IF YOUR FAN SUGGESTS THAT IT ONLY TAKE 60'S THEN YOU CAN'T GO OVER THAT, ONLY BELOW. MAYBE THAT WILL HELP

Answer:

This fan's light kit is connected directly with the junction box, so if the bulbs burn out easily, the reason may be from the instability of voltage. Try to use another bulb.
