Good Value
I purchased this after having seem my parents use one. I like to purchase food, especially meat, in bulk quantities so it is cheaper. I love using this food saver to package meat into individual portions. It keeps the food fresh for longer then just packaged in ziploc bags. I did find it a bit tricky to get used to and you need to follow the directions exactly. After getting the hang of using it is really easy to use.

'mo food, no problems
After reading several reviews of different products and comparing prices, I decided to try the Food Saver from Canadian Tire. Though the instructions were initially confusing for me, I managed to use the product correctly once I got the hang of it. And believe me when I say to listen to the directions, I did something wrong and of course the food wasn't sealed properly. I have to travel a lot for work where food is way more expensive, so I try to bring as much that I can seal as I can since it helps keeps the weight of my luggage down.

Not for long-term storage or extended use
This does not suck out enough air to put your home-dehydrated food into for long-term dry pantry storage.
As well, I attempted to create a stock of bags and only made it through a few when it overheated.

Foodsaver v2240
We bought the v2240 foodsaver about 3 months ago, ( that is the foodsaver in the picture, canadian tire did not add the model # to their listing.)
We love it, it vacuums perfectly.
I can now buy things like a box of Pogos and vacuum seal them into packs of 2 and then return them back into box for freezer.
When I bought the odd box in the past I would have 1 or 2 and the rest would be eventually thrown out due to freezer burn.
We are very happy with this purchase.
The best place to buy your rools of plastic is at the Costco. It is worth paying the membership fees, and now we can buy other items there in bulk to vacuum seal and freeze.

Excellent product
Got this a year ago and love it! The plastic rolls are fantastic for freezing but a bit pricey for fridge storage, I'd get the cheaper other brand rolls for that.
Well built, I never thought I'd ever say this but the plastic body is substantial, a good solid feel to it. A DVD is available now? I'll have to try and find it. Oh, I got this on sale at $110 but I'd still buy it at $140

Worth the money
If you're like me and tend to 'forget' what is in the freezer, this is a great thing to have. No freezer burn, meat stays fresh, lasts long! Worth the investment, especially if you buy meat at costco or a butcher in bulk.

Good Product
Works really well!, I've seen a few sealers over the years that were weak and didn't seal well, Not this one, very powerful vac. motor and seals every time. Haven't used the container sealer yet, just bags. A little expensive but it does go on sale periodically.

Best investment!
This is a fabulous system! Beware of cheaper brands as they don't work as well as this brand!
I buy meat when on sale and buy it in good quantities and then seal it with the Food Saver! It's fabulous for many other foods or items!
It's a must have! I have wasted a lot of food due to freezer burn but with this, I pulled out chicken well over 1 year old (frozen of course) and it was like I had bought it the day before!
