Handy little thing!

"I've had this food chopper for a few months now and I have to say that it has come handy a lot!

It's very easy to use, fast, practical for quick chopping when you don't feel like doing it by hand...

The main problems that I see with it is only the fact that it's very noisy and that, for some reason, when my husband used it, one of the blade ended up bending a bit... in the cutting part of the blade, it sort of twisted/bended... not a lot, just a tiny tiny part of it... The chopper still works great though! Like I said, we're still using it coz it's just a tiny tiny part that twisted/bended... Nothing to really fuss about...

Besides that, I wish that the container be a tad bigger...

Nonetheless, this is a GREAT buy and I'd totally recommend it to my friends coz it's really practical no matter if you have or not a bigger version of a food processor, this one really does come handy :)"

Good price

"Small and compact, it does the job for a cheap price.
Easy to store and clean, this is a perfect tool for occasional chopping and small quantities of food.
Only point is that the shiny see through plastic becomes white and dull after chopping hard stuffs such as almonds."

"I know it was only $8 but I was hoping for more. The only positive thing I can say is... it is compact. I tried chopping crackers to crumbs but no matter how many times I tried, I could not make them very fine. I tried chopping cheddar cheese and it just gummed up on me. The cheese was firm and straight out of the fridge. My old OSTER chopped it fine. The container was also too small to chop up anything with liquid. It certainly could not puree. Wish I had returned it right away, but I kept trying it until I waited too long and am now stuck with it. Will be sending to Sally Ann next shipment."

"Don't let the cheap price fool you, this is a quality product that is an absolute must in our kitchen, if you want to make quick work of chopped veggies or nuts, a 5 second chop does a large onion perfectly and no tears! this is such a great kitchen accessorie, that takes up little countertop space, you may as well donate your big old food processor to the salvation army, because this convenient tiny chopper will be your salvation, and like a microwave you will never know what you would do without one!
Its too affordable, fast, easy, and super efficient with two chop speed's and easy clean up !
I highly recommend this product and will say it gets alot of use!"

quick chop

"I wasn't sure something this small would work on nuts, but I did use this to make pestos and it really did grind up nuts. You can only work with small quantities at a time though. I'm not sure why, but even though I cleaned well after every use, the plastic went cloudy after a few months."

Slice & shred vegetables?

Can this item slice and shred vegetables? Or should I look for a larger food processor? I am handicapped and cannot slice my vegetables or shred my cheese...

it does not shred cheese and there is not a slicing option for veggies. It is abit flimsy and it did not even dice my carrots very well

Yes, you will need a larger food processor as this product only chops food.

Yes! I throw onions in there all the time!!! It saves me the trouble of cutting them and avoids a lot of tears caused by chopping onions :)

Can I use this to make baby food?

I found it is too difficult to make small portion strained baby food by using regular blender because of the size.
Lancaster is small to fit,but I was wondering if it can make solid food smooth?

This food processor will not slice veggies... it can shred it, depending on how long you'll leave it running... You can grate cheese, though you have to be careful coz some cheeses are kinda sticky and can slow down the motor (or even fry it if you let it run too long)...

This is also good to chop onions and other veggies... I say chop, not slice... and it does great purees as well...

Yes! Totally!... I actually thought about the fact that this food processor would be perfect for parents of babies in age to eat smooth foods...

To achieve this, you only need to let this food processor run longer and it will make some good puree for your baby :)

Also, depending on how thick you want your puree, make sure to check the quantity of liquid the whole mix (puree) has... if there's too much liquid (from the veggies for example), make sure to add something that's a bit dryer, like that it absorbs a bit of the moisture - therefore rendering your puree a bit thicker... And vice versa, if it's not liquid enough, add some water for example...

The blades are not designed and do not rotate fast enough to puree solid food; you will be left with small chunks. You would need something like the Magic Bullet.
