poorly designed, wears out and breaks easily
Don't touch this food processor with a barge pole.
None of the features are unique to this model and the way they're implemented results in the unit being difficult to clean, prone to coming loose during use and wearing out.
The worst of it: the motor has a plastic spindle with a sloppy fit to the cutting attachments. After a few light uses, the plastic on one or both of these parts will either wear or melt or both, making the appliance useless.
Even if the spindle weren't a problem, in use, the machine vibrates so much that the bowl unlocks itself.
The lid of the bowl has a deep groove where it joins the bowl and this groove accumulates, well, everything. Grains, herbs - whole carrots and almonds - you name it. Not only do those things not get "processed" they're a pain to clean out. At least Kitchenaid was kind enough to include a spatula for that job.
No love.
Returned for a refund and my next food processor will be a Cuisinart Elite.

Good Machine!
I received this machine for christmas and had wanted it despite the bad reviews. I wanted it for the exactslice feature on this product. I have used it a few times and so far it has performed as it is advertised. I read the manual that came with the machine and the exact slice feature works perfect. I just finished making scalloped potatoes and it cut the potatoes a lot thinner than I could using a kitchenaid professional knife. I have used it to mix up a dessert I made as well and it performed quite well when using it. I think the key is for people to read the manual to learn how to use the machine properly. The only negative thing I could say about the machine is the design of the lid. When using the shredder for shredding cheese and slicing the potatoes I noticed food will get stuck in a grove on the lide part of the mixing bowl. If I had left it alone and allowed to let food dry in those hard to reach spots it would have been a real pain to clean. Therefore the bowl and lid should be cleaned right away in order to save time from trying to get bits and pieces out of groves.

Amazing Food Pro
Just gave this Kitchenaid food pro to my mother and she has given me rave reviews. She loves the adjustable "thick/thin" control on the outside so she never has to open the lid. Her vegetables come out perfectly for her needs, whether sliced, chopped or julienned. When she tested on carrots, she was amazed how thin her julienned carrots came out. She says the purees for her dressings/dips come out the way she likes it. She also loves the wide mouth so she doesn't have to precut as much. She says the insert for the mouth fits well and goes down smoothly. She also appreciates the smaller mouth located within the insert for smaller foods she needs to cut/puree/slice/chop. She loves the fact that the container is BPA free, and that the processor is light - she can carry this from counter to kitchen shelf without any trouble. She also loves the big buttons - never presses the wrong button. She actually uses this everyday for cooking from soups to salads.

Thought it would be better
I was disappointed. When slicing or shredding, food gets stuck in the gap. I'm surprised that this wasn't caught during quality testing. The design is poor. Also, it did not mince garlic or ginger well at all. The blades are too far from the sides. The lid is difficult to get on and off, and the cord does not retract.
The case for the blades is lovely.
