Excellent mixer
Upgraded from an artisan to this. No complaints. Works amazing and powerful. Also KitchenAid is a top notch company. Any problems they immediately send you a new product and you just send the old one back directly.

Best non-industrial mixer available
Not worth the money if you're buying full price, but probably worth it when it's on sale. And they go on sale a LOT.
High quality stuff. The motor sometimes has a rough time kneading bread dough, though. But as long as you watch and occasionally help it along taking the dough off of the hook, it seems to do fine.

LOVE IT!
I am a novice cook/baker. I'm almost 40 and I really thought that good cooking came from a restaurant so why bother, right? Wrong! This is the first appliance that I have bought for the kitchen that completely motivates me to learn new things and bake/cook. I have since purchased other items of equal value like a food processor, etc because this appliance has given me a passion for my kitchen. I make home made pasta and bread regularly using this machine that I bought about 1.5 years ago. I went from buying pre-made or ordering in, to making my own pasta, ice cream and bread from scratch!
I have read many reviews about the different types of mixers. I originally thought that the professional 5 plus was going to be more machine than I needed; however, it stores nicely on my counter and I don't have to pull it all the way out from under my cupboards to use it which creates more counter space (because it doesn't have the tilt head). I can kneed my bread and pasta dough (which is a beast!) entirely with the machine. The spiral dough hook doesn't have the same problems I've read with the c shaped one (at least I haven't had the problems with it). I bought the 3 qt mixing bowl and whisk attachment for mixing smaller items like frosting and whipping cream. I love it.

Use it ALL the time!
I got this mixer for Christmas. I'd always wanted one. I'm not a baker but I do love to cook. I got the pasta attachments and I love making pasta! I've also ventured into breads and pizza dough. I never realized how easy these things were to make before getting this machine!
I highly recommend this to everyone. The professional is nice for the power compared to the others, especially for kneading and the attachments.
Only downside is its height - it will not fit under your cabinets on the countertop. Otherwise fantastic!

I love KitchenAid Mixers!
I have both the Artisan and the Professional KitchenAid mixers. They're both great for different things. The Professional has a stronger motor and the bowl is larger than most other mixers. This mixer is great for large batches and for things that require a stronger mixer. I can use the extruder attachment on the Professional machine to make homemade macaroni and the machine does not overheat even after I've run three batches through it. The down side to this mixer is that it is larger and is fairly heavy so it would be difficult if you had to transport it a lot. I do love mine, though.

love it
wow this is one powerful mixer. It is the perfect size for my family of 5. It mixes everything so thoroughly and quickly, you just have to be careful not to over mix. The only complaints i have are that it is a bit noisy and i would have liked to pay a little less. Even with those two minor issues i am still very happy with my purchase.

Best Home mixer for the price!
I have used many brands over the years for home and commercial, this one has the torque to do all most everything I need it to. Pretzel, bagels and breads used properly this machine can do all of heavier doughs as long as you don't make a huge batch and use the right speed. 8 pretzel batch is its max we have found. Looking forward to the new 7qt 1.3 HP model next now that they are sold in Canada.

Attractive But Wimpy
I was so excited when I found this mixer on sale for nearly half price and Canadian Tire. Very good looking unit, but it was a disappointment. It lacks power to do dense or heavy doughs, sounds like it's really labouring. Works awesome to do light blending and whipping. For the price, I find it silly that you have to buy a splashguard separate, that should be a standard attachment, in my opinion. Glad I didn't pay full price.
