Lagostina is skimping on the materials
Lagostina is skimping on the materials. These Tocina pans are thinner than they used to be and even then, aren't all the same thickness.
We had bought, separately, a set of these (Ticino) on sale from Canadian Tire a few years ago and are already having to replace them.
$9.95 each for the 20 cm and 26 cm pans (or $19.95 for the set of 2) this isn't an unreasonable price.
But, the new ones are made of a thinner aluminum than the old ones. Thicker aluminum heats more evenly and is less likely to warp or to bend. I saw one pair of pans for sale that seemed to have a crushed (distorted) 26 cm pan in it.
My old 20, 26 and 30 cm pans measure about 3.40 mm thick (at the edge)..
The new 20 cm pan (of the 2-pan set) measures 2.93 mm and the new 26 cm pan (of the 2-pan set) measures 2.84 mm at the edge. That's 13.8% & 16.5% thinner.
The new, single, 20, 26 and 30 cm pans are 3.1 mm, 2.84 and 2.88 mm, respectively. That's 8.8%, 16.5%, 15.3% thinner, respectively.
So the new 20 cm pans are either 8.8% or 13.8% thinner, the new 26 cm pans are 16.5% thinner and the new 30 cm pans are 15.3% thinner, than the old pans.
I haven't been able to measure the bases.
Also, the packaging for the pans mentions that they are oven-safe but mentions no temperature limits. I'd like to assume that means they are usable at any oven temperature, but how can I be sure?
The are also supposed to be dish washer safe but are they? My old pans discoloured when washed in the dishwasher. Non-stick and aluminum products are generally regarded as not being suitable for cleaning in dishwashers.
We were happy enough with the old pans and have bought a new, replacement set but, I guess, one does get what one pays for.
I can only recommend these pans at the current sale prices of $9.95 for the 20 and 26 cm pans and $14.95 for the 30 cm pan.

Lagostina is the best!
We have been using the Lagostina brand in our kitchen for 5+ years - still love it! Still using the same products that we bought 5+ years ago too - they last for a very long time!
Get these products while you can with absolutely great pricing and sales that Canadian Tire gives!!

kitchen must have
no matter what you want to cook, these pans will get it done with minimum fuss. Non stick, easy to clean, and even cooking heat. everyone should have atleast one pan in their kitchen

Excellent product
I have had many skillets come and go, both inexpensive and so-called high quality, but this by far is the best. After two years of regular use there is barely a mark in the coating, which I cannot say for my Paderno pan. I use it on my ceramic top stove and it heats evenly throughout and does not mark the surface. Nor is the paint on the bottom of the skillet etched, as it is with my other skillets. And when it goes on sale, which is often, you can't beat the price.
