Slightly Rough Interior Finish
I wanted something durable and non-toxic, unlike non-stick coated pans. To avoid leaving bits of paper towel after wiping it out, I just place it on a warm stove element for a bit to dryit.

Fair product, the price is a bit much
I found a comparable cast-iron skillet elsewhere for considerably less. Cast-iron is cast-iron as far as I'm concerned. It's one product where you don't need to rely on good brands to find good quality.

A bargain at $20 (sale price)
Picked this up last summer on sale for $20 and it's the best $20 I've ever spent. Even at full price it's a bargain. I just wish I'd bought this before I shelled out $400 on a set of non-stick Lagostina cookware, as we rarely use the skillets included with that set since buying this skillet! This is our favourite and most used item in our kitchen. As others have mentioned, it is a little rough on the inside so paper towels will sometimes leave lint behind, but it's not a big deal...I am hopeful that with continued use (lots o'fat!) that problem will disappear. Even if it doesn't, this still remains one of my best purchases ever.

Not a bad deal when on sale
What attracts me to this pan in the longer handle which makes it easier to hold compared to most other short handled pans. The down side is that the interior is fairly rough and if wiped with a paper towel it will leave little bits behind. Overall for 20$ it not a bad deal.

Nice heavy pan but rough finish on the interior!
I've used cast iron pans for years and know how to keep them well seasoned so that they remain non-stick, but this one is going back to the store. The finish on the interior is as rough as the exterior, making it very hard to clean. If you wipe it with a paper towel, small bits of paper stick to the entire surface. I'll keep on looking for a good pan with a smooth finish inside.

Everyone Needs one of these
This frying pan is a requirement in any kitchen. Once it is properly seasoned, it is non-stick. It distributes heat evenly and can go in the oven.

Everything old is new again
we used a cast iron fry pan growing up and I've finally returned to my roots. This pan is a giant bargain when on sale for $20. You can fry in it, bake biscuits, cook over a campfire. Its very heavy so maybe not good for backpacking but otherwise the perfect pan

Great for making my favorite Tarte Tatin
I needed a skillet that I could put into the ove to make my favorite dessert; Tarte Tatin. This worked beautifully and I got it on sale so it was a real bargain.

leagues better than no-stick
I will never use a non-stick (teflon-type) frying pan again. Cast iron distributes heat evenly, is easy to clean in the sink and is easy to maintain with a spray or wipe of oil. No more non-stick coating to chip off and make a pan useless in a matter of months. Also, cast iron can go in the oven or on the range top.
