great box for the money
Bought the top and bottom when on sale for 1150 for both. Big box for little money. The bottom has the option of adding 2 more caster wheels in the middle if you buy them. Might be a good idea if you plan on loading this box up heavy. Its no snap on or other big name expencive box but I'd rather spend all that extra money on tools.

Great if on sale
There is no doubt that this is a really great setup, but you should keep in mind that it is not built to the same standards as other professional boxes. That being said, why should it be. It's $1200 bucks. Compare that to a Snapon box of similar dimensions at $6000 and you'll understand that you couldn't possibly expect it to be the same. For the price of this roller set, you can't beat it. It is very well made, and as with all Mastercraft products, they tend to come on sale for 40-50-60% off regularly. Pick it up for $500 bucks and you will be getting a great deal, but its still a decent deal even at regular price. I use this at work, and so does one other guy. We are both apprentices, but most of the long term guys have Snapon stuff, which stands to reason, as they can better afford $30,000 tool collections.
There is no good reason not to buy this set, but realistically, given the frequency of sales, just wait it out and get this and the beautiful top box on sale for less than the regular price of just the bottom roller.

good home or apprentice starter box
I bought one on the weekend, had a look at the thickness of the metal and the quality of the slides and the assembly techniques. it would only be good for light use. We have boxes from Beach Waterloo Snap on etc at work to compare them to. they are just not the the same league.the handles are light duty, things are pop riveted on , slides are light duty. If you really need the box for its size, then get it on sale as a saving grace. but dont think it will last long in a shop setting. mine is going back and will look at napa etc.

tool starge done right
the chest is top notch it has good quality casters
good quality slides on the drawers and the top drawer will hold just about any lagre tool you got.
the wooden work top is great its like a work bench
with tons storage. Assembly is so easy all you have to do is put the casters on and your done. I also have the 26" stainless steel box and chest had it for about 1 year. the quality of the Maximum tool chest and boxes for the money is unbeatable even at regular price, but on sale cant be beat.

Holy rolling cabinate
Holy rolling cabinate is right! When I got this puppy home my cousin twice removed asked where I got it and when I said Canadian Tire he was surprised because the quality was much gooder than his from home depot! Thanks again Canadian Tire.

Great Tool Box
The quality of this tool box for the price is incredible, has lots of storage room. Would be nice if maybe one of the medium sized drawers was changed to maybe two smaller ones not as deep but thats only for me, some people might like the deeper drawers. The only major problem i had with this box was there was no top chest available for it but recently while at my local Canadian Tire store i noticed they now make a top chest to fit it. Its still not showing up on the web site but they can definitely order it in at your local store. Cant wait until i get enough money saved up to get it as it is quite expencive at $1149.99 for the top alone, hopefully it goes on sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great tool chest!
The good:
Very well build. Double steel, rolled over the edges makes it very strong. Good ball bearings and high quality casters.
The wood top is a nice touch but the quality of the finish varies from chest to chest.
Good combination of drawer sizes makes it very versatile.
The not so good (can’t say anything bad about this one):
Doesn’t come with a second handle. Granted, once it’s loaded with tools you wouldn’t want to try and pick it up from the handle but, it would make it look more finished and give you something else to hang things from...for $1100 retail, kinda cheep it didn’t come with one.
I was a little surprised how little I could fit in this chest. It’s hard to fault it for this one because I knew ahead of time, but I wish the drawers were deeper (front to back) by another 3-5”. It’s a big chest but it’s still quite narrow.
In any case, CT did a great job on this one, and I happen to know its sale price of $700 is below their cost so thanks CT!

Big, Durable and Well Built
Mastercraft has done an amazing job on this one. The top drawer is great for the longer things and big enough to fit all my sockets and ratchets ect. in. The ball bearings are very good quality and the drawers latch automatically. The casters are also very good and have grease nipples. There is lots of room to fit all of my major tools accept you need a top box with smaller drawers for things like your measuring tools, pencils and markers ect. as the bottom drawers are a little to big and stuff gets moved around. The bottom drawers are great for all the air tools, grinders and the saws-all. For the price it is an amazing box that could easily be used by any mechanic, wether professional or a do it your self. Very durable and well designed with different drawer sizes. The extra wide design but skinnier (front to back) is much better than other boxes that are wider front to back.
Some downfalls are that Mastercraft does not make a top box for it specifically. They also don't have a hood design for hanging wrenches ect which I would definitely buy if they had it. One thing I would change on the box is have two full width drawers. The one they have now is great for socket racks, impacts and things that are taller, but I would like to see a shallower drawers for screw drivers so I don't have to use two separate drawers. Another thing that surprised me was that if you have Mastercraft wrenches in the supplied case, they do not fit into the shallower drawers... something that should definitely be changed in other designs.
I would not spend the money on the regualr price of $1100 (or whatever) but when it i on sale for $700 or so, it is a great price for a great product.
Mastercraft: please make a top box and hood for this box!

Excellent Products
This is a great product ! I recieved a blue 2 pc mastercraft toolbox for Christmas and got this one on Boxing day . Mastercraft has come a long way with its products. Hardwood top is tough. Drawer handles automatically latch drawer when closed. Smooth gliding drawers and wheels, casters have grease nipples for maintenance.Lots of drawer space, I fit a 4' level on topshelf. And an important note on both is the packaging was virtually all recyclable (cardboard). Nice work mastercraft !! Excellent product. I too would be interested in add-ons to bolt on the back, I noticed there are bolt holes back there.

nice box
box is very well built. top drawer is especially useful for longer tools such as pry bars, torque wrench, etc. I wish they would make a hood with peg board that would fit this box.
