OK, but not actually a "camera"
Overall, I think it is a handy contraption for all the obvious reasons mentioned, I.e. getting visual access to otherwise inaccessible spots (behind engine, inside walls, pipes, etc.). One of the challenges for me has been to maneuvre the "camera" head to the right spot AND then hold it steady enough to get a clear view of the subject matter being studied. There is no way to capture an image for closer analysis or greater magnification or to store for reference. In other words, this is not actually a camera. There is no slot for a memory card or cable to send an image to another device like a PC. That would be a huge improvement, and in fact, a comparably priced device at places like Harbor Freight Tools have this feature. Using the term "camera" in the title is a bit of a stretch or false advertising. A better name would be "real time viewer."

Much Better Than I Thought...
Received as a birthday gift from my brother. Between the 2 of us we have just about every tool anyone could possibly use.
Well this one was a really pleasant surprise! As a tradesman I drop a lot of things in hard to reach places, This toy is going with me for sure. The illumination,magnification feature & picture clarity are far better than I thought possible.
It's far better than the gimmick I thought it would be before trying it. As a Plumber/Pipefitter, I can think of a thousand uses for this toy.
If it holds up, it would be well worth the investment, unless you can get it as a bday gift :)

Brilliant!
Another top quality product by Mastercraft Maximum that is just as good if not better than the more well known brands world wide. It includes four AA batteries in that zip up bag / case that is well padded with foam. It has storage compartments for various items like spare batteries and so on. The unit is nice and light, comfortable in your hand and the screen is very easy to see. The LED intensity can be adjusted accordingly and the zoom feature can help a lot too. Excellent for various household uses like home inspections, seeing inside holes in walls or in pipes. For automotive use (my main reason for getting this) it is great to inspect a vehicle before purchase and when working on cars it can be a life saver when searching for lost nuts / bolts that fell out of your socket in the engine bay. Some cars are notorious for having many trapping areas for these and even with a magnetic tool it can take a while to locate. For the DIY mechanic working in a home garage with limited resources in terms of spare bolts it is incredible. Well worth the money and mine was purchased on sale for about 50% off. This tool will eventually pay for itself.

A good overall tool for inspection
Well designed unit, simple to use and the camera and LCD monitor provide ample detail for viewing tight spaces. The LED provides more than enough light for dark locations and the view selector allows you to rotate the image. The magnifier allows you to zoom in, however, images beyond a few feet from the lens will be out of focus. This unit has been clearly thought out, right down to the carrying case which protects the device in foam, This is a good buy.

Good deal
I bought this for $99, down from regular $259, expecting a recording chip on board, e.g. an SD card. Alas, it does not have this, but this is still a good deal. This unit is very robust and has a nice big, clear display. It comes in a real good case to, to protect it. It cannot be used for cylinder inspections as was asked by someone else because the camera is too big to get into the hole. The fact that there's a light inside the head is a bonus, and of course takes up much of the space. The head is 5/8" diameter, about 18mm across. I bought it because I'm always losing screws and bolts down the back of my engine and they never seem to fall on the floor. This camera will help.

great addition for auto mechanic toolbox (amature)
I bought this inspection camera on special at 60% less! and for the price i was amazed on how well this camera works! in hard to reach areas like for example: on a 1995 Dodge caravan the spark plugs holes on the back are hard to locate once they are removed with this camera it makes things alot easier! another example would be for looking in the walls when you're passing wires to see what is or could be in the way!
overall! this inspection camera in my case is well worth it! I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent
I bought this out of sudden and urgent need. Turns out it was the last one in stock, half price and last day on sale. With a 5 year warranty, you can't beat this camera. The resolution is ok so long as you keep it steady. The LED light with adjustable intensity illuminates perfectly in dark areas.
Overall, great bang for your buck, even if it is regular price.
