Jigsaw Blade Set, 10-Pc
If there is one thing I hate, it`s flimsy jigsaw blades. These are very much the opposite. I got this set for my birthday and it was one of my favorite presents. The clean cut blades make a really nice cut, and the fast cut ones are great for rough use. But I found that the metal cutting blade doesn`t cut metal that well. The variety is great, a couple of each. I would recommend this set over the little four-pack ones; much better value for your money.
I love these blades.

Great set of jigsaw blades
I used to pick up bulk packs of MasterCraft brand jigsaw blades when they come on sale. They give decent performance for price (if you buy them on sale) but they’re not the best quality. They rapidly dull and even so-called fine cut blades (12-14 tpi) still produce a fair amount of tear out in plywood.
When I moved on from doing garage-type woodworking projects (e.g., a work bench, a router stand, utility shelves) to more “refined” woodworking projects (e.g., a cutting board, a toybox, a cedar chest) it was time to upgrade to a better set of blades. I’ve picked up Bosch blades at CT and found they worked very well for the price, but they are sold in 5 packs of the same type of blade. I wanted to a variety of blades, so when I saw this DeWalt set on sale I grabbed one.
The storage case is very sturdy with strong hinges and clasps. The lid is see-through so it’s easy to pick out the blade you need. Each compartment and will accommodate about four or five blades. I’ve added some metal cutting and abrasive bits to the kit and there is still lots of room for more blades. (The storage box won’t hold hold flush cut blades.)
The 3/8” blades are all excellent and I’ve had no problem with blade “wander” while making curved or straight cuts through a 2x4. The fast cut blade (6 tpi) does cut fast through ¾ and 2x stock, making cuts faster and with less tear out than it’s MasterCraft equivalent. There is another 6 tpi blade that’s for fast clean cuts. The tooth design is different and it makes the cut at about half the speed of the fast cut blades, but it produces a lot less tear out than the high speed blades that came with this set. The 10 tpi blades make very clean cuts, producing less tear out than some 12-14 tpi Mastercraft blades I’ve used. The speed of the cuts is significantly less than the 6 tpi blades, but that’s the price you pay for a cleaner cut. There is a ¼” inch scrolling blade for making tight curves. This blade is 12 tpi and produces cuts that are clean enough that you need to do very little sanding.
Regular jigsaw blades tear out on the top side of a board, especially when using the orbital setting on a sander. DeWalt includes a “downcut” laminate blades that puts the tearout on the bottom side of the wood. I haven’t used it on laminate, but I find it’s excellent for cutting veneered plywood and melamine covered particle board. The cuts are very clean and tear out is minimal with these blades. I didn’t have to tape the veneer to prevent tearout.
These U shank blades will work with both of the Mastercraft jigsaw sold by Canadian Tire. I’ve yet to have one of these DeWalt blades pop out of the holder
This is a great set of blades once you’ve graduated to projects that require clean intricate cuts and have left behind bulk packs of no-name blades.
