laser tag
One of the best products I have bought this year well worth the price I paid.

Too many mediocre functions in one tool
1. Why does the laser point one way, but the range finder the other way??
2. Big and bulky when you only want one function.
3. Laser line is bright on one side, dim on the other, and only about 2' wide at 10'.
4. Weird interface
Summary: Shortly after I bought it, a carpet installer came by with a tiny Dewalt distance measuring device. It dawned on me that I'd rather have 3 small accurate tools than one mediocre multi-function tool. ie. buy a separate distance tool, a combo AC/stud finder tool, and a real 4' level

mine quit working - bad experience
It worked fine for the first month or two, then I put it away for the winter and it never worked properly again after that. When i went to look for a stud, it would just keep beeping and never start searching properly. New battery didn't help. Really has me scratching my head as I purposely bought one that i assumed was high quality so I wouldn't have these problems with it. I have NEVER had a stud finder that was reliable and a $70 one didn't work either.

jack of all trades, master of none
As with any combination device there are compromises.
The big drawback on this unit is the basic design - there are 2 buttons on the side - one to change the function, the other to activate (which needs to be held in during stud sweeping), leading to FREQUENT times when the wrong button is pressed. That was an incredibly dumb idea.
Having said that - it DOES find the studs reliably, even if it takes 5 times longer than my father in laws $14 dollar zircon.
If you're looking for primarily a stud sensor - do yourself a favour and get a dedicated unit for that. The laser line thing is handy, but there are better auto leveling laser levels out there that do that better.

Not the tool for me
So far I have had no real issues with this tool. I only used it a few times, therefore every time I pull it out of my tool box I forget how to set it up for stud sensing, wire detecting or estimating. I use it more consistently for the laser level. I have separate tools for studs and wires that I like better. If you are going to use this tool on an occasional basis, it is probably not the tool for you either.

Great Laser
Only used this a few times so far but it is very useful with the distance measuring and finding wiring. It came in real handy when doing a room renovation.

Works, thats all I can say
This product worked, but was not worth the cost, the battery life left a bit to be desired, I traded this for the Black & decker offering and was pleased with it.
Spend a couple dollars more, and get a different product if you are going to use it multiple times.

Do not waste your money
I have been using this for a couple of years and just returned it for the final time. Luckily it had a 4 year warranty as I have gone through 3 so far. Would work for the first few useses then start to get either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. No problem getting a full refung though.

A Handy Tool
I bought this to replace my hawkeye laser level (which I was not overly impressed with).
Overall I'm very satisfied with this tool.
Good points
-the measuring tool is very accurate once you get the hang of it.
-the stud finder works on metal and wood studs, and has adjustable depth
-AC detector never misses a live wire
Bad points
-I find the AC detector sometimes gives false positive readings (tells you there is AC when there is not)...
Also worth noting is that the piercing drywall hanger thing will leave small, but noticable holes in drywall so if you plan on using it be prepared to patch a small hole and touch up the paint. I mean you're basicly nailing it to the wall, but if you dn't mind patching a small hole then it's all good!
all in all a good tool.
