Yardworks 4.5 lb Splitter Wood-Handle Axe
This is a terrific axe! I was able to go through wood chopping much more quickly and efficiently than I would have with any other axe.

Too skinny and too dull
Dull edge, skinny blade and no weight means that you'll bury this axe on every swing but not deep enough to split the log. Far better off with a maul or something that won't stick in the wood if you don't get a good enough hit to split it. I spent all my time trying to unwedge the axe instead of splitting wood.

Good splitter... for smaller blocks
I had busted the handle on my 8lb axe/maul splitting wood. I saw this one on sale and figured I would give it a try, since I couldn't find a replacement handle. After using the 8lb, this axe felt light, but for the most reasonably sized (18") pieces, it split nicely. Much bigger than that and I wish I had a heavier axe. Keeping it sharp is also key for efficiency.

good for spitting wood
good all purpose splitting axe. Has a good heavy feel to it and you can get good momentum swinging this axe. Couple this with a sharpening tool, your axe should last you several seasons of splitting wood.

Don't Axe Twice, it's alright....
I bought this last year to use to chop out stumps from some trees I removed. Why? Because it was on sale for a really good price and it had a smaller strike face - perfect for tight spots. I have since used it for splitting - and does a great job. I need to sharpen mine though....
