Had No Problomes

"i changed the all pupose blad for a cross grain does everything. no problome but no guide came with it. and you cant get one maid for this saw so i ordered one from u.a.p 19 bucks
if it does bog down somthing is rong with the operator not the saw.dont cut wet wood or hit any nails you will do fine with this saw"

Blade wobbles

"We bought one of these as a "dispos-saw". We just needed to rip up some old 2x12s and 4x4s left over from a cottage reno and we bought one of these as a "disposa-saw" to finish up the rough work. We found three problems with this saw.

1. Underpowered. The blade kept bogging down in plywood and 2x boards. 11A is a lot less than most other circular saws (15A seems the norm),.

2. The base requires continual fiddling to keep it perpendicular to the blade.

3. The blade wobbles. We tightened the blade, fooled around with the arbor, even replaced the blade and still had a noticeable wobble.

We got nervous handling a powertool that spins a blade at several thousand RPM and wobbles at the same time, so we returned the saw and bought a MasterCraft instead. The MC saw isn't the best circular saw on the market, but it works find for us and is a great improvement over this saw."

Good for a year

"I bought this saw because it seemed like good value for the money. I built 5 woodsheds with it and renovated the upstairs bedroom with the saw, then it quit on me, just after the one year warranty was up.
I bought the MasterCraft 14 Amp laser saw when it was on sale to replace this one. I am happy with the MasterCraft saw. I would recommend waiting until the MasterCraft saw goes on sale if you don't need the saw right away."

"Forget wood.I bought this to cut paving stones then throw it away, because its a Jobmate. It went through a stack of 2 " tiles like butter. Better than the brand name model that quit on me."

Excellent Economy Purchase

"This saw is great. A great price, with a good quality, solid saw. comes with a guide as well which is a great bonus (more accurate than my finger!) I paid with this with Canadian Tire money which made it even better,. Built my deck with this saw and it is accurate and reliable. Highly recommend it."

The circular saw has a dust chute to direct the saw dust but it is not designed as a vac adapter.

Answer:

That's usually up to the Customer Service manager. If all you're looking for is a straight exchange, then they'll likely approve it. My local CTC has been very good with the limited warranty issues's I've had. No CTC will issue a cash refund without a receipt, of course.

No-Load speed?

I was wondering what it means by the motor providing a no-load speed?

Answer:

The speed of all tools is measured "no load" - that is running free without any load or pressure applied to the tool during normal use. The speed will drop when you start to cut material. The thicker the material, the greater the load and the tool will slow down.
