would this quickly connect and disconnect from my 1/4'' air tool inlet? as well as into a 3/4" air line with no further modifications?

Answer:

No, this item will not quickly connect/disconnect. It is meant as a stationary inline filter. It should not be mounted directly to an air tool. It has ¼” NPT ports for connections; only plugs and adapters of this size will be able to screw into it.
