Worst purchase ever

"i am on my 3rd battery in 13 months using it for my trailer. the first lasted 9 months and the second only 4,With less than 1 month past the free replacement it cost me $71 for the 3rd battery amd i hope this last longer"

"SEEMS TO WORK WELL WITH MY MINN KOTA 30 POUND TROLLING MOTOR, I WAS OUT TROLLING FOR 2- 3 HOURS AVERAGE SPEED OF 3 AND I DONT EVEN THINK I LOST HALF A CHARGE ,

THE ONLY STRANGE THING IS THAT WHEN CHARGING IT WITH A NAUTILUS INTELLIGENT CHARGER IN OPTIMAL MODE THE CHARGER DOES NOT REALLY REPORT WHEN ITS FULL BUT ACTS AS ITS IN MAINTENANCE MODE AS IT THEN STOPS CHARGE AND TRICKLE CHARGES ONCE IN A WHILE TO KEEP THE FULL CHARGE BUT THE SCREEN DOES NOT REPORT FULL UNLESS YOU UNPLUG IT AND PLUG IT BACK IN , IM NOT SURE IF ITS THE CHARGER OR THE BATTERY , I PHONE COSTOMER SERVICE FOR THE CHARGER, THEY TELL THAT ITS OPERATING PROPERLY AND THAT THE OWNERS MANUAL IS INCORRECT ON HOW ITS SUPPOSE TO WORK"

I have a 1981 tent trailer and I am looking for a battery for when no electricy sites are availale.

Question:

What size would be best and how mlong will it last and what do I charge it with while I am camoing?

Answer:

A good deep cycle will do you, and if you us LED lights your battery will last longer, I us no less than 6 LED lights (each has no less than 20 LEDs, and my battery lasted for more than 5 days, I charged the battery with a 20 watt solar panel, I am going to add more LED lights, and run two batterys, I am also running 12v PC fans for air movement, they only draw 1.5Amps per hour, I am still tinkering with this as it is my hunt rig.

I have 5 batteries on a 123w solar pannel & 1500w inverter, can I equalize them & what should the Bulk and Float voltages be for this battery?

Answer:

What kind of batteries are they (wet, AGM, gel)?

Bulk voltage is usually 14.4 - 14.7V depending on type while float is usually 13.2 - 13.8V depending on battery type.

Answer:

I think your referring to the Eliminator renewable energy battery? It's AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) which provides all sorts of added benefits like sealed, non-spillable, maintenance free, virbration resistance, faster recharging,, deeper discharges, slower self discharge...

Google AGM batteries to learn more.

There's also a Group 31 Nautilus AGM (model 10-3190).

How do I charge this battery?

Answer:

First, check/top up the fluid level (with distilled water). But as far as charging, you need to check your battery charger's manual.

Some general tips. Make sure your charger is suited for deep cycle batteries. And you'll need something rated at least 10amps.

If you have a linear charger, charge on the high setting until the battery is almost charged, then switch over to 2A. (If you're charger is not automatic, you better pay close attention.)

If you have a newer intelligent charger, set it to the high setting - it will automatically reduce the current as the battery needs.
