Excellent hiking bike
IT is a nice looking bike, strudy and good build quality. The handle grips and brakes are good for the rough hilly and mountainous terrain.
Tire grip on wet or slightly muddy terrain is not that good, but this is ok for me because I only bike one sunny and dry days.

review
when i was a kid my dad had a chevy and i got to ride in a cadillac - what a difference! it was like riding on air. this is like that. much softer ride. you can feel the shocks absorbing the bumps. gears are a dream to change. i can tell the difference between this and my previous bikes.
little heavy. not the fastest at full speed. got a flat the first week.
the rear brakes tightened up and i can't fix them. will bring to cyclepath i guess.
overall i like it and would have given it 5 stars, but i can't fix the back brakes.

Fantastic bike!
This is not a bike for pros of course, but better than a entry level mountain bike! Riding on the 29" wheels are so comfortable. If you like to make this bike lighter and faster, it is as easy as just changing the 29" mountain bike tires to 700c hybrid tires. You might need to adjust front and rear derailleur or have Canadian tire guys fix them after taking your bike on a test ride! This bike is for sure a great buy at an on-sale price, $399. If you are looking for a really light bike with dual disc brakes, you should get a specialized, Canondale, Rocky mountain,Trek, or Giant Carbon fiber frame and rim and you should be ready to pay at least 6 times more!
