Great Bike for the Price, Poor Assembly
I bought this bike to replace an older bike that I had for the past four years. The bike has a fairly good suspension system, and the quick release saddle is convenient. The only problem with the bike was that the front break was poorly assembled or adjusted, and it required some tuning before I was able to use it. At the beginning the front brakes were not even touching the disc, but after 30 minutes of tweaking, I was able to fix it.
Changing gears on this bike is fairly easy, and quick, but avoid changing multiple gears at a time.
Overall, this bicycle is a fairly good product, and I would recommend it at the price of $249, but it is not worth the $499 full price.

Worst Bike we every bought
We bought this bike last year. Got it home and the peddle fell off and it squeeked like crazy. Brought it back to Cdn. Tire under warranty and they fixed the peddle and noise and picked it up a week later. We took it for a test drive outside the store before bringing it home and the peddle fell off. Therefore we asked for a NEW IronHorse instead of trying to fix this one again which was agreed.
My son rode this replacement bike for the rest of the school year, but it started to squeek again and it was very hard to peddle. Therefore this Spring we brought it to another bike shop shop for a tune up. $60.00 later, they fixed the squeek and had to do extra work on both wheels. My son rode it one week now and the squeek is back and the peddle fell off. So although this bike looks nice it is very poor quality. We are very dis-satisfied and would not recommend this bike to anyone.

Ironhorse? Should be Lemonhorse
I purchased this bike in the spring of 2012, the first one I had, the pedal cranks kept falling off so I returned it and they gave me another... I checked nuts, bolts & screws... trust me when I tell you, about half of them were loose. The handle grips were not good so I put ergomonic ones, the seat after a couple months got mushy I got a better one & a stronger post. Then the plastic pedals broke, replaced them too. Recently my rear disk-brake caliper broke so I'm upgrading both and putting new stronger rotors as well. The front shock is weak and keeps bottoming out, so I'll upgrade that too. Want a better ride? Tighten the rear suspension spring about half way in, it's way too sloppy in default position. Only thing positive I can say about this bike is the frame style, tires, and gear changers. The rear deurailler is hard to adjust & may end up junked too. Should I have just bought a better bike, answer is yes but now I've invested too much to throw it away... If this bike was originally $499. as they say, hopefully it was built better back then. Where's the Qaulity Control when a bike is going out. Lucky I never had an accident when my back brakes failed me that day... : (

look elsewhere
Pedal unscrewed after a few uses, damaging the threads. Metal seems to be softer than any bike I have ever seen. Front brake squeaks.

Iron Horse Worst Bike (quality) ever Purchased
I am very disappointed with this Bike - very poor quality and quality control. I discovered that the Drive Train (in the lower part of the Frame) was improperly installed by the Chinese Factory. Dorel is the distributer of the Iron Horse Bike. Thats not the only Issue its impossible to adjust the front disk brake. The front wheel was also improperly aligned and needed adjustment to ride the bike. I returned the Bike to Canadian Tire..

issues...
ive had this bike for a month and a half and my brakes sqeak horribly...had other minor issues with it such as my chain derailing then getting wedged between the rear fork and the gear shifter, another day my front cable mysteriously wrapped itself around the handle bars. My seat was crooked and I ended up wiping out. Last but not least I was riding one day and my front tire did a 180 on me without warning. Its a good bike but they need to train the ppl properly on how to put these things together right.

Very Poor Quality bike
I purchased this bike in a box due to every bike on the rack not being assembled correctly. I later assembled the bike and set it up correctly just to discover that its a cheap bike with IRON HORSE stickers and nothing of any quality anywhere. I bought at 50% off retail and was still too much money for what you get. Plus the head set seal was wrecked from who ever put it together at the factory. Buy this model with cation. I returned this the following day.

SEVERAL QUALITY RELATED PROBLEMS
I purchased this bike 2 months ago. Problems with quality and precision. The disk brakes (mainly front) are squizing even after several adjustments. Now I went on a 25 km tour and the left hand side pedal holder fell off during biking. I reinstalled it (tighten it solidly) and went the next day again and it fell off again after 20 km. I dismantled the holder and installed under the nut a lock washer (it must be not more than 1 mm thick washer otherwise one cannot get the nut back on). The nut holding the pedal bracked should be self locking but the lock groves on the nut are flat! In general I am disappointed I had a Raleigh Full Suspension bike bought at CDN Tire (made in Canada) and never a pedal fell off or any other major problem. I bought the bike at 50 % reduced.

Nice bike. Poor quality control
It is a decent bike. Hard to find the quality at this price. So very nice. Thank god Canadian Tire has sales. Thats what makes this a good buy.
A couple of things. Bought at Confed location in Saskatoon. Rear brakes were set up very loose. I am still tweaking it. Reflectors were falling off. Main stem that connects frame to the forks dangerously loose. Left pedal fell off.
I realize it is kids putting these together so it is what it is. Just take a good look at it and tighten everything up.
Other than that love the bike.
