User Friendly
This is a great GPS that is very user friendly. The touch screen is very easy to navigate to plan your route. I relied on a TomTom driving from Washington State back to Ontario and it made travelling so relaxed not having to worry if you missed an exit.

Pleasantly surprised
I have been thinking about getting a GPS unit for a while now. I tried a competitor of TomTom and after trying to figure it out and the having all the inputed addresses mysteriously vanish from the Garmin, Canadian Tire refunded me my money. I bought this TomTom unit and was very pleasantly surprised how easy it was to start and operate. So easy in fact, I had it up and running before I left the parking lot. Good work, TomTom.

Tomtom XXL550 good
This is my second Tomtom and compares favorably with my year-old similar Tomtom 340S model, .... I prefer it to both Garmins we've used in the same price range, and less said about Magellans the better. My current Tomtom, on sale @ Canadian Tire for $129.99, is "plug-and-play" out of the box, needing only local time setting and choice of metric or SAE units and away I went with a big map on display. This unit is noticeably bigger than its predecessor, bought a year ago on sale $99.99. Online updates couldn't be easier, using the (supplied) USB cord, unlike Magellan whose update software was so bad on my system, I needed a ctl-alt-del to close it and remove it from my system. I had intended to get the TOmtom VIA 1505M GPS for $20 more and free lifetime maps, but the Canadian Tire I was at was out of stock. So this summer if you see an old Diesel Dodge pulling a cool little 5th wheel camper and the driver has a big toothy grin, chances are it'll be me looking at my new Tomtom! Happy trails, ...
